Public Opinion and Living Conditions among Gaza Palestinians amid Escalating Humanitarian Crisis 166

AWRAD conducted a public opinion poll capturing the voices of Palestinians living under siege in the Gaza Strip. Based on fieldwork conducted between May 12 and 14, 2025, this presents unfiltered account of life amid one of Gaza’s most devastating modern crises. The findings reveal widespread humanitarian suffering, mass internal displacement, deep psychological trauma, and shifting political aspirations. The survey was carried out during a total blockade on humanitarian aid, a period marked by intensified military operations, the release of an Israeli–American hostage by Hamas, and regional visits by U.S. President Donald Trump. AWRAD’s Gaza-based team of 22 trained enumerators conducted face-to-face interviews with a representative sample of 551 Palestinians using a systematic probability sampling method. The sample design accounted for demographic shifts caused by the war and applied soft quotas to ensure inclusive representation by governorate of origin, gender, age, and education. The results, grounded in rigorous methodology and field expertise, offer a rare and timely snapshot of the realities facing Gaza’s population.
